Parliament to discuss political parties’ bill next week

Parliament will meet next week to discuss one of the CNURA's government biggest and most ambitious initiatives the Political Party Bill.
The bill aims to reform the political system and will include changes to the constitution.
The Prime Minister has designated Monday – for the Committee of the Whole House to discuss a report on the political party bill.
And the bill to be tabled the next day.

Prime Minister in Palau for fisheries meeting

The Prime Minister is in Palau this week for the meeting of a new regional fisheries known as the Parties to the Nauru Agreement. The new body aims to give more control over the fisheries industry in the region back to country's that own, the region's main fishing grounds. The new body is headed by the former deputy director of the Forum Fisheries Agency, Dr Transform Aqorau.

The outcome for the two Asian fishing boats will depend entirely on the final analysis by the Attorney Generals Office. The Ministry of fishery says the two fishing boats broke two fisheries law and are likely to face fines of up to 3 millions dollars.

Boundaries commission identifies 17 new boundaries

The boundaries commission has come up with 17 new seats for the year after the parliament endorsed the idea last year. The boundaries commission reviews the current boundaries after every ten years. The commission recommendation will be put before parliament this year.
