Manufacturers Association calls on the new government to focus on better infrastructure to promote development

With  Election Day just around the corner, a player in the private sector is calling on the new government to establish good and proper infrastructure.
The Manufacturers Association of Solomon Islands says the government need to improve basic infrastructures such as roads, water and electricity supply.
The Association says this will help to improve and maintain the products they are producing now.

Telecommunications commission gives Bemobile end of August deadline

The entry of Bemobile as the second mobile license operator in the country will be a boost to the telecommunications sector.
Since the independent committee appointed by government selected Bemobile, members of the public were not satisfied.
Most had anticipated the entry of mobile giants Digicel to establish its operation.
Half a year later Bemobile failed to meet its first deadline and was granted a second deadline that expires at end of august.

The programme is being broadcasted to the 23 million people of Shanghai and 130 billion people in China.

Price Control unit say their hands are tied, as prices of goods continue to skyrocket

The Cost of rice is still sky rocketing after a shortage experienced in Honiara earlier this month.
Despite a huge import on rice by Sol Rice and other wholesalers, the drastic shortage has pinched pockets of families who depend entirely on rice for their daily diet.
When contacted – the Price control unit said there were a number of issues yet to be resolved regarding the matter.
